Waterways Ireland

This project is an international regeneration project to develop Ireland’s Waterways infrastructure and recreational environment. This has been developed on a Coldfusion platform utilising multiple collocated server’s architecture. Additional services have been selected to augment the hardware environment including backups, maintenance and monitoring.

The Solution

The two servers split the services required into a web and database environment. This enables both servers to focus on their designated tasks and allows for better performance and utilisation of the hardware resources.

Backup provision, to three distinct locations, utilising Symantec Veritas Backup exec. means that the information is protected against any unforeseen occurrences.

We maintain all the patching and regular updates to the servers ensuring the most up-to date system environment and thereby protecting them from malicious code that may be operating on the internet.

Monitoring provides the client with regular updates on the current state of their servers thereby filtering information into any planning schedules and reducing the impact of any scheduled downtime or upgrades on users or staff. This system has be operating successfully within project parameters and without incident since its inception.

Training and consultancy services, as well as hardware setup have also been employed to support this project at times when required.
