Strategy & Digital Direction

If you require a partner to assist in the development of an effective and commercially valid online strategy then the team at biznet IIS have the experience and know how to deliver for you.

We have worked with some of Ireland's leading companies and organizations, such as the Quinn Group, Failte Ireland, Dublin Bus, Tourism Ireland, Maxol Direct and Budget Travel to address and reshape their online strategies.  Solutions we have delivered are helping them to realise business synergies, build corporate brand equity and identity whilst allowing them to capitalise commercially on increased digital opportunity.

Our strategy team constantly monitors Internet user behaviour.  This means that user trends, reaction to new technologies and user expectation levels are at the fore of any design and development work carried out.  It is essential that these trends or behaviours are monitored and utilised to shape and drive your current and future online strategy.

Developing your Strategy

We have a structured approach to developing your strategy and shaping your direction online.  Our approach can be broken down into the following steps where we;

Endorse a end user centric approach
We endorse an end user centric approach, focusing on fulfilling your site visitor’s needs and wants.  Your strategy should focus on delivering, as far as possible, a complete self service online environment.

Define your audience and understand their online behaviours
Dissecting how existing users interact with your online presence is achieved by utilising tools such as Google Analytics and Clicktracks.  These tools provide essential data in relation to behavioural habits and browsing conditions of users.

We also advocate that a series of offline workshop sessions be undertaken with a segment group of existing Website users relevant to your target audience.

Recommended Workshop exercises undertaken include:

  • Website Survey, with questions such as: “What do you like / dislike about the existing website?” / “What functionality would you like implemented within the Website?”
  • A/B Split Testing: This is a method of testing by which a baseline control sample is compared to a variety of single-variable test samples in order to improve response rates

Upon completion of the above tasks our consultants compile a comprehensive document outlining how existing users browsing patterns fit with your brief and if there are issues, what would be the recommended improvements.

Gain a full understanding of your brief
Our team consists of a range of qualified Internet professionals, some of whom have over 13 years of industry experience.  This depth of experience is utilised to fully understand and breakdown supplied briefs into relevant and deliverable objectives, requirements and tasks.

We gain a comprehensive understanding of all briefs by working closely with our clients to break the brief down into key objectives.  Each key objective is then linked to a set of specific requirements. Each requirement is then further segmented into a serious of tasks which are associated with the relevant expertise to deliver.

Gauge the potential response of your audience
Upon the agreeing of how each Requirement will function online we advise that before development begins, a section of the target Audience once again be segmented. They should review the requirements, and feedback on whether they believe this functionality would be beneficial, and if not, what could be implemented to make it usable and functional.

All information gleaned from these workshops would be included within the final functional requirements document. This knowledge transfer would highlight key areas that have possibly been overlooked or underestimated for complexity.

Identify the appropriate technologies
As the digital landscape is continual evolving and shifting, it is advised that “Leading Edge” technologies and practises be identified, and reviewed, to see how they may fit within the strategy.

The following technologies would be highlighted and tested:

  • Web 2.0 (Tag Clouds, Simplified Interfaces, etc.....)
  • Social Networking (MySpace, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Web services, and how these can be utilised to communicate with legacy systems

Evaluation would comprise of:

  • Does it strengthen your online Brand?
  • Does it offer a communication alternative, or access to a possible new user demographic
  • Does it streamline your business in accordance with the web strategy?

Define and set evaluation plus overall performance criteria
Specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals to be achieved will be agreed and defined for the Web Strategy.  These will be used to measure the success of your online solution.  KPI’s such as “Increase’s in site traffic”, “Downloaded Documents” will be scored against agreed criteria.  Use and deployment of the latest  analytical and behavioural analysis software will allow for full evaluation and monitoring of all online performance.

Our Consultancy Team can provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on any aspect of a Web Strategy.
