ETCNI launches new biznet IIS developed site
20 May 2009
The Engineering Training Council is an employer-led body whose vision is that the provision of engineering training and education in Northern Ireland is second to none.
To communicate effectively with their industry partners, ETCNI needed to re-engineer their digital communication strategy. The keystone of this strategy was to be their new website. ETCNI needed to improve their time: cost ratio savings reducing admin overheads, while also making documents and site content much more accessible for site users.
To facilitate this biznet IIS designed a contemporary yet stylish new site incorporating the Kentico content management system. Kentico is designed for ease of use as well as enhanced control over the website; enabling speedy updates to content throughout the site therefore reducing any costs associated with using an in-house or outsourced IT professional.
We created a document library - a centralised online library with easily navigable drop down menus arranged by category such as Sector Development, Apprenticeships, NVQ, Assessor Documentation and Maintenance.
To improve the apprenticeship application process we developed an online application facility which enables users to apply for apprenticeship places online. Applications are sent directly to ETCNI and are stored in the CMS. A new application will trigger an e-mail which alerts ETCNI, enabling them to link through directly to a central application repository. This is a vast improvement on the old system of paper applications which required manual inputting into the system.
ETCNI site has an e-mail registration facility enabling users to sign up to receive communication from ETCNI, improving customer retention and acquisition.
biznet IIS is proud to present Engineering Training Council's new overhauled website and we are delighted to report that ETCNI are very pleased with it and that already the site's new functionality has greatly improved their processes as well as surpassing their expectations. Sylvia Law of ETCNI said, "Engineering Training Council NI has been working with biznet IIS on the development and redesign of their website recently and is happy with all aspects of the service received from Biznet, from the initial design process through to the ease of use of the CMS system to maintain the website."
