BT
We operate and maintain in partnership with BT Ireland one of the most secure, robust and capable data centre environments available today. It is a world class facility located in British Telecom (BT) owned Telephone House, Belfast. This is the communications “head end” in Northern Ireland.
Unlike some other local independent Data Centre’s we can truly say that our Data Center meets the highest levels of security physically and access wise. Historically Telephone House used to house Northern Ireland's very own Nuclear Attack Command Centre. One of a network across the British Isles established during the Cold War days. It is a 'bomb proof' building and has withstood several “direct hits” during the worst of Northern Ireland’s Troubles. Full Iris Access Recognition systems are deployed throughout the facility (eye scanning equipment only used in the highest security installations worldwide).
Under a special partnership with BT Ireland, our team retains full control of all servers, network devices, and connections - indeed Biznet IIS owns network addresses which are completely independent of the BT space. The facility is fed from two separate NI Electricity Service grids, with a dual supply delivered to each server rack. Backup power generators are in-situ to replace if required each grid supply.
Telephone House is connected to the BT network backbone through multiple scalable connections and from there on to the rest of the internet.
Both BT and biznet IIS are ISO27001 Information Security Accredited. A standard which no other independent Data Centre can lay claim to in N.Ireland.
